Qigong: Key to the Warehouse of Abundance
with Melinda Buckwalter
Explore the fascinating world of qigong. How can we encourage the circulation of energy in our bodies and in our lives? We'll research experiential energetic anatomy, qi dance, and qi healing. We will cultivate our energy through movement practices and meditations, and experiment with group movement of qi. Circulate, circulate, circulate!
Melinda Buckwalter began her practice of qigong with Chen, Hui Xian at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 1995. Since that time she has learned several forms, studying with their Chinese lineage holders. She is also a practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu, a Japanese energy work based on five element theory. As a dance maker, she integrates qigong in outdoor works she calls bodywork for landscape. She has taught qigong in a variety of venues including at Bennington and Smith Colleges and for corporate wellness programs.

Authentic Movement
with Tish Petrushka
These classes offer an opportunity to experience different ways of practicing the form of Authentic Movment (moving with eyes closed and witnessing). Moving from impulses on a pesonal/collective journey, we'll explore the discipline and harvest for our Lives.
Tish is a lover of the movement of Life. Witnessing and moving with water, trees, and grasses in the wind, animals, and humans inspires her joy, curiosity, gratitude, and her Art. Authentic Movement found her over 15 years ago, and she continues to seek opportunities to explore and deepen with the form.

Physical Dialogues: touch, weight, energy, and force
with Daniel Lepkoff
Energetic and detailed physical practice of: walking , breathing, running, shifting weight, falling, reaching, rolling, navigating by touch, expression of force, muscle tone, moving the environment and being moved by it as well. The movement of attention, an ongoing activity of reading ones circumstance , underlies, accompanies, and is supported by all that we will do. Composition and design in the heat of the moment. Daniel Lepkoff's work looks at "all" of our movement as a finely tuned physical dialogue with the environment and explores the form and composition of this interaction. He played a central role in the development of Release Technique with Mary Fulkerson and Contact Improvisation with Steve Paxton since the early 70's, and is one of the founders of Movement Research in NYC. As a performer and teacher he is known for composing dances that arises from the process of living movement, a vision of living in the body in a physical dialogue with the environment.

Embodied Spontaneous Compositions
with Lani Nahele
Each week we'll sink into a different physical focus based on Body-Mind Centering. Then, sourcing from and intertwining current events both political and physical, we'll make instant choices setting material as we go. Four weeks later, we'll each have a short piece. Commit to the series!
Lani Nahele is a teacher of Body-Mind Centering, Gyrokinesis, Pilates, modern technique and contact improvisation. New York City, France and Germany were her dancing homes for 15 years. She danced with Trisha Brown and Co., followed by numerous collaborations: Helge Musial, Frey Faust, Ka Rustler, Dieter Heitkamp including duet and group works. She is currently collaborating with Jen Polins and Catherine Musinsky Dec. 11, 12 at Studio Helix, Northampton.
